Features and Collaborations
Hey there! Welcome to my little world! My name is Varsha Jayaraj and I am the founder of RockandSolo. I am so happy that you landed on my blog and are reading this. 🙂
I was born and raised in Bengaluru, I’m an Engineer by profession, and I started traveling the world alone at the age of 23. I started RockandSolo in the year 2018 after I took my first ever solo trip to New York. And I’ve been documenting my travels ever since.
I’ve traveled to countries like Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Singapore, UAE, Bahrain and Bhutan. Within India, I’ve traveled to Assam, Bodoland, Kumta, Gokarna, Lonavala and a few more places with my family.
My niche is experiential travel. I enjoy exploring the history and the local culture of the places that I travel to. Whether it is walking through the remains of the Maratha Empire in Lonavala, or dancing to the traditional folk song of Bodoland, my travels have taken me to places that I had never dreamt of, and has enriched my life in so many ways.
My blog RockandSolo is a small effort from my end to inspire you to travel solo and help you plan your trips. 🙂 Here, you will find in-depth travel guides and itineraries, travel tips from my personal experiences, world stories depicting different cultures, vegan food guides, and a couple of YouTube videos from my trips.
I’m not a big fan of social media although I do have a Facebook page and an Instagram account. I am active on these only when I’m traveling because I post a lot of live stories which is kind of fun! 🙂
I have a YouTube channel where I make vlogs in a story-telling format. I don’t post videos about my day to day life or anything personal. I invest my time only if I feel like there’s a story that deserves to be told. For example, my video about Bodoland connected with a lot of people and it went viral, which was totally unexpected! I like to keep it that way 🙂
I hope you find the information in my blog useful. You can reach out to me at email@example.com or leave a comment on my blog posts to get in touch with me. I would be more than happy to help! 🙂
Thank you. Much love,
